Free booze! (almost)

I usually don’t do any publicity here but this time it’s too good to be true! :-)

I’m already a big fan of ordering my beers online at Cheers In, but this time M1NT Cellars is running a weekly special that is simply awesome and true value for money:

Thanks to Marc for drawing my attention to this on his blog www.marc.cn

My case is underway :-)

One day in my life

Some of my friends and family members sometimes ask me what a typical day looks like for me… The thing is… I don’t really have a routine! But I’ll try to describe my weekend.

7.45am: difficult to wake up… for once, music wakes me up and not a wake up call, as I was in Shanghai for a couple of days. Tough to get out of bed that day as I went out with a Belgian friend the day before… had a couple of “old-fashioned” too many… Normally, if I’m in Shanghai I will wake up more around 6.30, to start the day by killing a few emails (sent from Europe overnight…) but today I have to pack my bag again and arrange a few households stuff.. pay bills, pick up dry cleaning, food for my cat so that it can survive when I’m away… I manage to find some time to prepare for an important meeting with a landlord for the kids playground project that I do…

11am-4pm: This meeting took me 5 hours that day!!!! Very tough negotiation with this landlord! But in the end, I believe we will get to where we want to be! One of my staff member even had to bring me urgent papers to sign there because I was not able to make it to the office that day.

4.15pm: luckily the landlord’s office was close to the airport, so I had to tell the taxi to rush “only” a little bit… ;-) after rushing through security check, I was on my way to Shenzhen to visit a friend of mine there… the 2-hours flight was not enough to catch up on work that needed to be done (recently I have difficulties to chose what is the most urgent to finalize!)… But I prepared a wrap up of our meeting and proofread a contract for a partnership in South East Asia! I guess I’ll have to work just a bit later tonight!

For the rest of the weekend, my friend and I, we played golf on Saturday and spend the day in Hong Kong on Sunday.  I won’t work on Saturday and this will be a much deserved break, but on Sunday, I have a meeting with a potential client at the Conrad Hotel in HH and then that night I’m flying out to Taipei, to meet with business partners for the Belgian Beer Cafés! I’ll spend 2 days there!

I love my life ☺

Cheers

Thomas
